OLIFANTSBERG

Olifantsberg is a small family estate owned by the Dutchman Paul Leeuwerik. The farm is located on the flanks of the Brandwacht mountain range and overlooks the Breedekloof valley. The vineyards are located between 250 and 450m above sea level, making it slightly cooler here than in the valley. The region has a very large difference between day and night temperatures and a wind that blows throughout the year which causes a slow ripening of the grapes. All this results in fresh and elegant wines.

The farm is run by winemaker and farm manager Elizma Visser and her husband Ferdi has also been working on Olifantsberg for several years. The philosophy of the domain is to work as naturally as possible in both the vineyards and the cellar and only intervene when necessary.
